Coming Saturday I’ll be going to the Paris Games Week (@ParisGamesWeek on Twitter). I was kindly invited to come along with @rrradiogirrrl and @ms_Powder. Road triiiiiip!
It’s the first time this event is taking place and the programme does look interesting.
I’m kind of wondering why they’re still presenting God of War 3. The game has already been released.
A first new great looking game is ‘The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword’ by Nintendo for the Wii. A new installment of a great franchise. Looking forward to swinging on that grappling hook.
THQ will be presenting the uDraw GameTablet. I haven’t read much about it. It looks like one those Wacom tablets but for the Wii. Promotional material mostly shows kiddy stuff. But it has potential for family games as well, and apparently also artists.
I’ve played Guild Wars. One of the bigger competitors of World of Warcraft. Why did I choose Guild Wars over WoW? The absence of a monthly fee. But I also have to say that GW is a great game in itself. Nice graphics. Good story base. NCsoft will be showing Guild Wars 2 in Paris this week. A colleague already got to play the game in Cologne a couple of months ago and he had some positive things to say about it. Most notable is the interesting new concept (for GW) where the environment is alive. Meaning, when being in the GW world, that everything in that world won’t be standing still. Things are happening and players are doing quests. You can pass by and choose to help or ignore them and go about your business.
Thé game for @ms_Powder and myself: Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood (Ubisoft). I’ve played the first AC numurous times. Assassin’s Creed 2 was even better. And now the third installment will be hitting the shelves in less than a month. Very excited to discover the new moves and weapons! (Crossbow anyone?!!!!) This time there will also be a multiplayer mode, which I’ve played in beta. I’m not yet convinced of that format for this game, but to be honest, I haven’t played it that much yet. So we’ll see.

Activision will have French music artists (Sheryfa Luna, Quentin Mosimann and Maxime Torres) presenting the new DJ Hero 2. More intresting to me will be the remake of the James Bond game ‘Golden Eye’. I’ve played this game on the Nintendo 64 and loved the multiplayer.
Playstation will be there showing the PS Move. Microsoft XBox will have a Kinect stand. Looking forward to maybe tryout both of them.
I’m really looking forward to all of it. For those who can’t make it, don’t worry, @rrradiogirrrl will bring along her camcorder. I’ll have to be on my best behavior… Maybe I should dress up as a box. ;-) I kid. I kid.
Is the weekend there yet?
P.S.: No mentioning of booth babes on the website, but is there such a thing as a gaming event without them? I guess we’ll find out this Saturday. :)
