A Brave Old World

About Brave? Again? Yes. Now it’s the review. See what I did there?

If you’ve seen the trailer, you sort of know what it’s about. And you’re not wrong if you’re thinking it’s the typical story about traditions which by the end are no longer a thing. That on its own is pretty boring. Been there, done that.

But it’s Pixar. They use a setting and let their imagination run free. They have shown again what they can do with a simple and timely premise.

They succeeded in making their animation compelling enough to engage the audience. There were a few who shed a tear. That says a lot, if you ask me.

Brave - Lords

Brave - Change Your Fate.Scottish accents are funny on their own. Add a couple of weird looking characters, throw in some contemporary (and not so contemporary) cultural references, and you’ve got yourself a hit. Mix in some cuteness and you’ve definitely got the ladies in the bag.

Pixar created a wonderful environment, made the right plot twists, mixed it all together into a film for all ages to enjoy. Although there are those who seem to have a need for looking for things that aren’t really there…

I would recommend you go see it. It’s great fun!

Disney / Pixar 2012 \o/

P.S.: This was a screening, so the film was in English (Wouldn’t want it any other way!) and there were no subtitles. So extra Yay! And an extra thank you for the invite Walt Disney BE and Enchanté!
