All American. All Heart.

Early this week Hoodie Allen (remember, I wrote about him a week ago) released his new EP called ‘All American’. I bought it for two reasons:

  1. It’s good.
  2. I like his story.

To me the record is not that different from his previous work, but there is definitely progress.

Hoodie’s music’s got my ear, but he himself too. This guy is doing this without the support of any major (or even minor) label. The promo is all Hoodie. And his fans too of course. But he is at the forefront.

He talks to his fans. He listens to them. He now even took it a step further and told he would call every fan, that bought the EP, some time during 2012. And get this: He’s relying on their honesty and respect. His fans are humans right? (*)

I sure am one of those flawed creatures, and I too gave him my info. Now it’s wait and see. I was going to leave him my Skype username, because I figured that’d be wiser financially. In that case we could even make it a video-chat. But it slipped my mind.

So Mr. Allen, if you’re reading this, in case you’d rather Skype me, my username is christophe.gassesmet.

Hoodie Allen previously shared with us the video for ‘No Interruption’, this week he gave us ‘No Faith In Brooklyn’ featuring Jhameel. Both come off the ‘All American’ EP.

Get it on iTunes!

Great job man! Cheers!
